​Overview

Wharton Alumni Angel Network of Boston (WAAN Boston) is not only a member of the global Wharton Alumni Angel Network but also a special interest group of the Wharton Club of Boston. Boston's vibrant startup ecosystem is fueling a new generation of startups spanning technology, financial services, education, energy, and healthcare industries, and creating significant opportunities for angel investors. 
 
WAAN Boston provides a forum to connect and nurture relationships between alumni angels and entrepreneurs through pitch sessions from top-tier startups, education programs, and mentorship.

We provide alumni angels with opportunities to meet and evaluate presenting companies, network and collaborate with fellow investors, and increase their investment portfolios. For entrepreneurs, WAAN Boston helps them grow their companies and enhance their skills and knowledge. For mentors, WAAN Boston provides a forum to connect and advise growing start-up companies.

Michelle Fan        Chair
​Michelle is the founder of the WAAN Boston chapter, as well as a member of the operating board of the WAAN New York City Chapter. Michelle is an equity investment analyst at BNP Paribas Asset Management where she researches technology, telecom, and healthcare stocks in the global emerging markets. Previously she was an associate at BlackRock, with roles in multi-asset portfolio management and APAC fundamental equity. She has held roles on the boards of various non-profits including Cherub Improv, Read Ahead, and the Wharton Club of Boston. Michelle is a frequent judge for the monthly Startupalooza Boston pitch events. She graduated from the Wharton undergraduate program, and is a CFA and a CAIA charterholder.

Bill Kriebel        ​Vice Chair
​
Bill has worked in a range of industries and in 17 countries. He was a regional manager throughout Southeast Asia and Europe for CIGNA. He worked for an internet software company as a product manager and he founded a consulting business.  Bill holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Finance from Harvard University.  He founded the Entrepreneurship Center of the Harvard Extension Student Management and Finance Club.  Bill is currently building a company in the Harvard Innovation Lab. He is a board member of the Penn Club of Boston and an a Penn Alumni Interviewer.
